Today marks the first day of The National Volunteer Week 2015.
With nearly 4,000 volunteers, who donate their precious time to the work of Salvos Stores, it’s a big celebration for us. It’s a time for us to cherish our valuable volunteers whom allow us to fully function and thrive thus generating funds to be contributed to The Salvation Army’s work.
This year each of our volunteers received a voucher booklet, a thank you card, a certificate and a badge.
Some Salvos Stores Store Managers started the celebrations early last week and went out of their way to give their volunteers Thank You cakes. The Salvos Stores volunteer-staff teams are the backbone of what we do, so to everyone THANK YOU!
Have you ever considered volunteering yourself? Volunteering is a two way street. On one side, it’s an opportunity for you to give back to the community and to help those in need. On the other side, volunteering has a self help aspect. It’s satisfying knowing your time is being spent on something worthwhile, your skills are being shared and knowing that you’ve done your part. If you’re interested in volunteering with Salvos Stores or have a few questions about what it may entail, head on over to our volunteering page for more info.
